Rec League Officials and Scorekeepers

LYBA is Hiring!

Loveland Youth Basketball Association will be hiring high school students for the upcoming 2022/23 Season for clock operator, score keeper and referee positions.  The games are played on Saturdays and Sundays in Loveland Gyms with the season beginning on January 7th. More details to come on who to contact for more information.

We will be holding a two-hour training meeting and will communicate details on timing once available. This meeting is mandatory to work games as a clock operator, score keeper or referee. Only those interested in refereeing need to stay for the 2nd hour.

Even if you have been a referee in the past for LYBA, you will need to complete an online concussion information course and submit your certificate of completion.  The course link can be found on the Coaches Corner tab of the website.

LYBA clock operators, score keepers and referees will complete an availability spreadsheet and we will be scheduled accordingly about 1-2 weeks in advance.  Ability will be factored in as well.  Typically, a certified OHSSA official will be assigned to work games with our Student Officials.  Student Officials will generally work games for the lower grades, 3rd – 5th.

Paychecks are mailed weekly, and should be received within a week of a game worked. Referees need to p
urchase and wear an officials shirt for games. These are available at the training sessions for a nominal charge.
